COMMENTS: Second time tasting the 1990 Charles Ellner. Still a wonderfully delicious Champagne. The flavors started out rather nutty and toasty, but cool off to a end on a citrus note. This crisp acidity laden flavors drive the finish on the wine, which seem to be a tad shorter than I remember. Although this is a 1990, it seems crisp and young.

AROMA: Nutty. Bread.

COMMENTS: Charles Ellner is quickly becoming on of my favorite Champagne houses. Everything they turn out is exceptional, with this 1990 being one of the best. This sparkler is quite lively in the glass and presents a straw yellow color that has slightly faded with age. The body is somewhere between mid-weight and full-bodied. The nose is
nutty/bready. On tasting, the wine deftly sits in your mouth and proceeds through a cascade of typical Champagne flavors of bread and yeast with some light fruits. The finish is long and drawn out. A great value.
