1995 Domaine Pegau - Laurence
(France / Rhone / Southern Rhone / Chateauneuf du Pape)
RATED: 01/01/2005
COMMENTS: Brilliant light ruby, light rim, dense tears, some fine sediment. Rather mature nose, soft sweet dark and red fruit, not oxidized but not far from it, maybe some spices. Nicely stuffed body, nice red fruit, slightly furry like peach skin, soft fruity acidity and very soft tannins, very well balanced. Good finish, velvety tannins and bit of red fruit in the long aftertaste. Versatile with food. Excellent bottle, ready for drinking, but will hold or even develop for another 10-15 years.

Score: 50 + 4 for optic + 14 for bouquet + 18 for taste + 9 for overall = total score of 95.

Not blind. Decanted 2 hours before drinking. Small ISO standard tasting glass. Bottle count reduced by one.
