| COMMENTS: |
I was pleasantly surprised by this bottle. I typically don't like low-end Spanish wines as I find them to contain too much sweet fruit that is overpowering a rustic character that is usually very appealing from this region.
This was was definitely fruity, but not overly so. It was smooth in the mouth with nice black fruit flavors balance out with oak. In fact, it serves as a great accompaniment to a meal with its agreeable, but not overpowering character. Purchased at The Wine Club in SF.

| COMMENTS: |
Medium to dark reddish-purple. Pleasant but sleepy nose of cherry, raspberry, flowers, charred oak, hints of clove and leaves. Medium body. Semi-dry. Medium tannins. Medium finish. Nice enough table wine for a difficult year, but when 2001 Solanera is the same price, there doesn't seem to be much point.

Designated by online wine fans as either: a must buy or a Parker-specific barrel sample scam, I had to try for myself. Aromas of raspberry, blueberry and vanilla. Similar flavors with an additional floral component. Balanced and full-bodied. In the end, an excellent wine for the price.
