2002 Beaulieu Vineyard (BV) Chardonnay
(USA / California / Napa / Carneros)
ALCOHOL: 13.5%
RATED: 09/07/2004
COLOR: Clear Yellow.
AROMA: Lemon. Citrus.
FLAVOR: Butter. Lemon. Citrus.
PROFILE: Smooth Mouthfeel. Rich Medium Body. Short Finish.
COMMENTS: Slightly better than the Sonoma bottling, the Carneros Chardonnay from BV is tighter with more citrus and lemon characteristics. There is no mistaking that this is a California Chardonnay, however, as the wine still has that rich butteryness to it.

2002 Beaulieu Vineyard (BV) Chardonnay
(USA / California / Napa / Carneros)
ALCOHOL: 13.5%
RATED: 07/21/2004
COLOR: Straw Yellow.
AROMA: Cream. Oak. Melon.
FLAVOR: Butter. Oak. Melon. Apricot. Earthy.
PROFILE: Crisp Acidity. Unbalanced. Smooth Mouthfeel. Short Finish.
COMMENTS: The Carneros Chard from BV is a simple quaffer, but you can probably find a similar Chard for less money. It initially opens up with cream and melon aromas, but its flavors run through additional components of oak, apricot and earth. A good food wine that paired nicely with seafood.
