COMMENTS: A lean and compact wine still, this Chardonnay meets and exceeds with bracing acidity and citrus fruits on the palette. If ever there were a chard. that is the flipside of the typical California paradigm it's Stony Hill. One of Napa's most ageworthy whites, I expect cellaring well into 2010. Enjoy with shucked oysters, Seared scallops, or lean white fish without the adulterations of cream or butter.

COMMENTS: If you are looking for a California Chablis, the Stony Hill Vineyards Chardonnay is it. This steely mineral driven wine offers green apples and a crisp acidity making it an execellent match with oysters.

Not a Chardonnay for the oaky buttery folks. Fans of Chablis may rate this wine higher than me as I like Chablis, but don't love it.
