1998 Mommessin - Clos de Tart - Grand Cru
(France / Burgundy / Cote de Nuits / Morey-St-Denis)
RATED: 07/01/2003
COMMENTS: (not blind): Rather light garnet, very brilliant, dense tears. Nose not yet PN-typical, ascending alcohol and tannins, some red fruit, mushrooms, nuts. Medium to slim firm body, some rather fine red fruit, good acidity, fine tannins. Very long aftertaste, soft but powerful tannins, not exactly mouth impregnating but very near. Score: 50 + 4
for optic + 14 for bouquet + 19 for taste + 8 for overall = total score of 95.

I would say this is why I buy Burgundies.
