COMMENTS: Tasted from a Magnum.
The wine was quite closed and tight in the beginning. The color was still quite purple suggesting less aging then it actually did. After decanting for almost 2 hours, the wine started to show some of its true character. A classic bordeaux nose, with the rustic and earthy side of a St Estephe. A core of cedar, lead pencil aroma as a backbone to support a supple but not overripe black fruit flavors, the wine has good mid palate viscosity balanced by moderate sweet tannin. The finish was a bit abrupt but the wine has good concentration and nice attack with a firm grip.

COLOR: Opaque Purple.
AROMA: Barnyard. Truffles. Savory. Lead. Mineral.
FLAVOR: Asphalt. Limestone. Tar.
PROFILE: Balanced. Astringent Viscous Mouthfeel. Medium Body. Moderate Tannin. Long Finish.
COMMENTS: An excellent bordeaux whose appearance sets the stage for a marvelous drinking experience. In the glass, the wine's color is a dense purple with thick and viscous tears.
The aroma is surpising. It produces notes of forest, barnyard, and truffles. In the mouth, however, the savory profile vanishes, while strong flavors of mineral--asphalt and tar--become omnipresent. This is a great wine.

COLOR: Red Purple.
AROMA: Asphalt. Plum.
FLAVOR: Tobacco. Asphalt. Plum. Leather.
PROFILE: Complex. Smooth Mouthfeel. Rich Body. Light Tannin. Medium Finish.
COMMENTS: This came from a magnum and started out really tight. With some decanting and further hand-cupping around the glass to make sure it had risen to room temperature, the wine began to shine.

It hit its stride with a mean mix of asphault, leather and tabacco, a flavor profile that only Bordeaux can deliver. Medium finish, but otherwise really tasty.

AROMA: Dark Fruits. Asphalt. Earthy.
FLAVOR: Dark Fruits. Lead. Asphalt.
PROFILE: Complex. Medium Body. Moderate Tannin. Medium Finish.
COMMENTS: This wine was an experience like I've never had before. My first aged Bordeaux, I finally understand what people mean when they say a wine tastes like asphalt. This wine had loads of mineral character reminding me of tar and lead. Only hints of any remaining fruit and the tannins had almost completely integrated. A wonderful learning experience and a fantastic wine.
