1989 Domaine de Trevallon
(France / Provence)
RATED: 08/01/2003
COMMENTS: (not blind): Very bright crimson, rather fat tears. Very nice nose of secondary red currant, green pepper, smoked ham, bit of compost ... Medium body, very fine acidity, some secondary red fruit, soft tannins and more. Long soft velvety aftertaste. Score: 50 + 4 for optic + 15 for bouquet + 18 for taste + 8 for overall = total score of 95.

Made curious by enthousiastic comments on Trevallon 1990 on another BB I remembered the 2 bottles of 1989 I had still in my cellar and tried this again after some years and some bottles I did not like at all. This wine needs clearly more than 10 years to give pleasure and now I regret not having bought this wine on a regular base.
