1982 Chateau La Mission Haut-Brion
(France / Bordeaux / Graves)
RATED: 04/01/2004
COMMENTS: (single blind): Brilliant medium garnet, fine tears, tints slightly the glass. Very decent vegetative stink, liquorice, lovage. Medium body, acidity, fruit and tannins very well balanced, elegant. Velvety finish, long. Score: 50 + 3 for optic + 14 for bouquet + 18 for taste + 8 for overall = total score of 93.

Had this last time Dec 2003 with more decanting time and a slightly higher score. Missed this time the "obvious truffle note". This means that this wine benefits from decanting - good to know.
