1983 Jaboulet - La Chapelle
(France / Rhone / Northern Rhone / Hermitage)
RATED: 10/02/2004
COMMENTS: One of the bottle was definately over the hill. This one surprisingly still a bit tight, the tannins seemed to be dominating the overall impression. About 1 hour later, the wine has slowly opened up and revealed some very nice mature bottle bouquet. The wine was getting better and better but it was also finished by then.

1983 Jaboulet - La Chapelle
(France / Rhone / Northern Rhone / Hermitage)
RATED: 08/01/2003
COMMENTS: (not blind): Strong sediment, light ruby with brick. Bouquet very decent, bit oxydized, secondary fruit. Slim body, some acidity, secondary dark fruit. Finish velvety acidity. Score: 50 + 2 for optic + 12 for bouquet + 16 for taste + 5 for overall = total score of 85. This is a bit over the hill - drink now...
