Sampled 1/13/04. The Kongsgaard Chard '01 has been stealing the spotlight lately, but its sister wine, Arietta '97, is well worth a visit and a revisit and another revisit. The nose is not huge but great. Neither its fruit nor its complexity is overwhelming but it has more than enough of both. The finish is not 1 minute long, but it is 20 seconds or more. In total, this wine is everything any red wine drinker wants in a glass. It's hard to tell how long this wine will last, but it certainly worth drinking now.
