(not blind): Very brilliant light ruby. Austere nose, bit oaky, some vanilla, hint of fruit. Medium to slim body, some acidity, some tannins, but nor very well integrated. Slightly prickling sensation on the tongue in the aftertaste. Score: 50 + 4 for optic + 12 (13) for bouquet + 16 (17) for taste + 6 (7) for overall = total score of 88 (91).
Retasted after one day in the open bottle (scores in parentheses): Prickle gone, better integrated, but remains rather austere, aftertaste somewhat impregnating. Promise of finesse.

(not blind): Medium garnet, very clear, brilliant, fat tears. Nose after decent dark berries, fine, bit cool. Medium body, fine acidity and soft but intense tannins. Aftertaste velvety, changing into some bitterness - hint of finesse remains. Score: 50 + 3 for optic + 13 for bouquet + 18 for taste + 8 for overall = total score of 92.

Dark garnet, very dense tears. Cool dark fruity nose, fine. Plump body, well balanced, some liquorice, caramelized sweetness like a young Barolo 1997. Good match with roasted veal.
