1985 Domaine Pegau - Reserve
(France / Rhone / Southern Rhone / Chateauneuf du Pape)
RATED: 09/01/2004
COMMENTS: Brilliant medium ruby, medium tears. Decent spearmint, bit cool, fine cool white pepper fruit, bit of lovage (this is old). Plump body, sweet dark fruit, rum punch, some acidity, fierce tannins. Long finish, fruity velvety tannins. Rum punch note is a bit disturbing, else top wine.

Score: 50 + 4 for optic + 14 for bouquet + 17 for taste + 8 for overall = total score of 93.
