appearance: clear, lots of sediment but decanted and clear. tawny orange
nose: dusty, dried fruit, medium intensity, clean, aged
Palate: dry, medium acidity, medium tannin, medium body, medium intensity. The wine was very balanced. the tannins were softened and the fruit had morphed into a dried cherry/tobacco. The acidity was still relatively lively but starting to fade. The bottle was well kept and was about to go over the hill, possibly it went over the hill a couple of years ago. Very subtle, soft, silky, smooth...a big powerhouse finally showing its tender side after years of patient waiting. Not the most gracefully aged Bordeaux I have tasted but, then again, I have not had the opportunity to taste too many. I'd love the chance to taste this again.
