More fruit-forward than the 2001 Diamond Creek the 2002 is more approachable earlier in its life. Of the three vineyard designates from Diamond Creek, this one is the earthiest. Aromas of dark fruits, with flavors of mushroom, earth, and dark fruits. I caught a medicinal note on the aftertaste that stood out as odd.
