2001 Chateau de Beaucastel - Blanc Roussanne VV
(France / Rhone / Southern Rhone / Chateauneuf du Pape)
RATED: 10/01/2003
COMMENTS: (not blind): Light gold, incredible tears. Nuts and butter in the nose. Full body, rather alcoholic, oaky, fine fruit. Finish very long, bit of pepper, Fino Sherry tendency. Score: 50 + 4 for optic + 14 for bouquet + 17 for taste + 7 for overall = total score of 92.

In a blind tasting I would probably take this wine for a Bruendlmayr Gruener Veltliner Ried Lamm 1998, which may be even a bit mightier.
