Dark ruby, very dense but bright, dense tears, tints a bit the glass, strong floating sediment. Soft barnyard, decent dark fruit. Plump to full body, slightly rotten intense dark fruit, soft acidity, velvety tannins. Long finish, fruity silky and velvety tannins. Nice performance. Quite fine with roasted apple with ginger and Port caramel sauce.
Score: 50 + 4 for optic + 13 for bouquet + 17 for taste + 8 for overall = total score of 92.
Not blind. Decanted shortly before drinking. Riedel Vinum Chardonnay glass.

Bright medium ruby (not as dark as I remember it), dense tears, heavy sediment in the bottle. Nice and powerful cool dark fruity nose, bit of barnyard. Medium to full body, solid acidity, lush dark fruit, nice tannins, well balanced. Long finish, rather silky. Seems quite drinkable now after a long period of being too concentrated to be enjoyed. Very good with not too delicate food and also to be enjoyed solo.

(not blind): Fine ruby, dense tears. Nose slight barnyard. Full to medium body, rather intense dark fruit, liquorice, bit soft, well balanced. Medium finish, rather silky. Score: 50 + 4 for optic + 13 for bouquet + 17 for taste + 7 for overall = total score of 91. Dinner with friends in the garden, BBQ-style food without looking for a match, stemware not really ideal for tasting especially concerning bouquet, decanted for 1 hour, note from memory. Wine was served a bit too warm and seemed therefore a bit flat.

(not blind): Opaque ruby, dense tears, tints the glass. Nose more of a CdP than of a Hermitage but nice and powerful. Full body, solid acidity, powerful fruit, nice tannins, well balanced. Long finish, rather silky. Still a bit too powerful to be enjoyed without reservation but will be may be great in 5-10 years. But already a perfect match for a hefty dish of roasted stuffed goose with red cabbage (preferrable cooked with the same wine) and potato dumplings. Score: 50 + 4 for optic + 13 for bouquet + 18 for taste + 8 for overall = total score of 93.
