Sampled 7/10/04. Great color and a pleasant nose of fruit and coffee. We decanted this wine for 2 hours and then third and fourth hour, and the wine was still very tannic, but you got the feeling that with time in the bottle the tannin problem will be resolved. Blackberries, black licorice, and mocha flavors emerge through the tannins, and you know that there is still much more to be discovered once this wine softens. Decanting this wine will not help, it simply needs time to evolve into something even better than it is today. Try again in another 5 years.
