Dark bright garnet with black core, fat tears. Restrained dark fruit in the nose, spicy, honeycomb, very nice. Medium to plump body, very well balanced, good acidity, fine fruit, nice tannins. Warm finish, beautiful wine.
Very fine match with ham and eggs (enhanced with some potatoes), ditto with almonds in chocolate.
Score: 50 + 4 for optic + 14 for bouquet + 18 for taste + 8 for overall = total score of 94.
Not blind. Decanted shortly before tasting. Small ISO standard tasting glass.
