A great French winemaker, but this one is past its best... I ordered a bottle of this wine at dinner over the weekend because it is usually great with food and relatively inexpensive. I was suprised when they brought out a 1998, as I haven't seen anything older than the 2000 in a while. My suprise turned to unhappiness, as the wine was very drinkable, but nowhere near what it should have been. The fruit was dried out and finish made me not want another sip...
Try this wine sometime, but not a vintage this old...
