2001 Domaine Pegau - Reserve
(France / Rhone / Southern Rhone / Chateauneuf du Pape)
RATED: 09/01/2004
COMMENTS: Light brilliant ruby, fat tears. Rooty yoghurt in the nose, austere spicy, cool, very young. Plump body, intense dark fruit, nice acidity, menthol. Medium long finish, fruity velvety. Could get a very nice wine with a more developed nose.

Score: 50 + 4 for optic + 13 for bouquet + 17 for taste + 8 for overall = total score of 92.

Pegau vertical tasting Graz 20040927. Single blind. Decanted shortly before tasting. Wine Star Chardonnay glass similar to ISO standard tasting glass. Wine #1 in flight #4. Sequence predefined by the organiser of the tasting, not by chance.

COMMENTS: (single blind): Brilliant garnet, medium tears. Slight CdP typical stink finishes with TCA note. Same in taste, slightly chemical. No Score. As far as I can remember my first corked Pegau ever.
