(not blind, from memory): Bit dusty medium purple, small bubbles in the rim, high viscosity. Slightly off nose but no apparently fault, underbrush, fresh cut dry conifer wood, gets over time bit oxidized, some lovage evolving. Rather full body but not fat, dark fruit bit overripe, good structure, no hint of finesse. Very long finish, powerful tannins linger on the palate. Score: 50 + 4 for optic + 12 for bouquet + 17 for taste + 8 for overall = total score of 91.
The Cailloux Centenaire is one of my alltime favorites so the expectations are high - these were not met this time, may be this was a slightly off bottle. Complex nose but not nice, taste overripe without finesse. The finish is the only remarkable feature here.
