COMMENTS:
Good nose of strawberry with some nutty aromas and pronounced EtOH. Taste did not hold up to the nose; hot and bitter with a slight nutty chocolate flavor. Quickly went downhill over a short time in the glass. It was more closed and alchoholic with time.

COMMENTS:
Dark red-purple, with a touch of brown to it. Overwhelming alcohol on the nose that carries over to the taste. My rating started at 84, then went to 82, and finally ended up at 80. It just seemed to get funkier by the minute. By the end of one and a half glasses of this, I wasn't interested in drinking any more... ever.

COMMENTS:
I haven't had any luck with the Marquis Phillips wines. They are usually entirely too big and jammy for my taste. This blend did not really have that over the top ripe fruit. The sweet jamminess was there but was overwhelmed by a bitter, alcoholic flavor. This wine only gets worse in the glass, so if you're going to drink it, drink it fast! Again, MP is not my favorite producer.

After a few sips of the first glass... I don't really want to drink any more of this to review it. This one boarders on undrinkable.

I usually like big Australian wines... this one, however, just tasted like a Play-Doh wine.

COMMENTS:
Dark reddish-purple. Aroma is black cherry, blackberry, oak, caramel, flowers. Semi-sweet. Full body. Medium tannins. Medium finish. About as leggy in the glass as it gets, very attractive. Aroma is somewhat Cali-style (candy-like, raw oak), but it's quite a nice experience in the mouth...very viscous, velvety, and dare I say sexual. Nice amount of tannin for drinking right now, but this probably needs a couple years to be optimal.
