1989 Rayas - Reserve
(France / Rhone / Southern Rhone / Chateauneuf du Pape)
RATED: 08/01/2004
COMMENTS: Dark brilliant garnet, fat tears. Red spicy fruit, warm, multi layered. Medium body, sweet red fruit, bit fruity acidity, fine velvety tannins. Long finish. The sweetness is a bit odd, may be a not so great bottle. Score: 50 + 4 for optic + 14 for bouquet + 17 for taste + 8 for overall = total score of 93.

Not blind. Decanted one hour. Riedel Syrah glasses. Side by side with the 1990 vintage.
