The 99 To Kalon is softer and smoother than the other top Mondavi wines that I had this up against. Perhaps even a bit fat, but not negatively so. It is dark red-purple withe a nose of dark fruits, butter and smoke. Upon tasting I detect chocolaty dark fruit and lead that continues through on the super long finish. Still a ways to go before this is drinking at its best.
