Aromas of cedar, cherry, and oak extend into the palate along with hints of vanilla and earth. A very enjoyable offering from BV, but don't sit on this one, drink this wine now and over the next two years.

In a testament to scale economies in production, BV is able to price the 2001 (a hyped vintage) Rutherford (not just Napa, but sub-appellation designate Rutherford) Cabernet (Napa's crown prince) for only $25 (US, not Canadian). The wine is actually quite good with flavors of dark fruits, earth, and cherry cola. Although I found these tastes to be rather lean, it is still a good value. The wine has a medium, cola-laden finish.
