Color: Red Purple.
Aroma: Caramel. Toffee. Sweet. Dark Fruits.
Flavor: Caramel. Toffee. Dark Fruits.
Profile: Crisp Acidity. Complex. Balanced. Smooth Mouthfeel. Voluminous Rich Body. Heavy Tannin. Long Finish.
One of the top 2001 Napa cabs that I have had the pleasure to drink so far. This wine is simply great.
It has an overwhelming soft melted caramel and toffee character to it that makes it deliciously plush. In addition, it is layered with sweet dark fruits and heavy tannins. The tannins are a bit dominating now, but I would expect with 10 years of cellar time that this will be resolved. The finish is long and mouth filling.
