2000 Thierry and Guy - Fat bastard
($10)

Color: Brick Red.
Aroma: Spice. Cherry.
Flavor: Spice. Cherry. Pepper.
Profile: Bitter. Unbalanced. Astringent Mouthfeel. Lean Body. Moderate Tannin. Short Finish.
Although from France, this Syrah is labeled "Shiraz." The atypical graphics on the label are also reminiscent of Australian wines. Be warned, however, this is not your typical Australian Shiraz. Rather it is an uninspired French wine. The bouquet and flavor profile includes cherry, spice and pepper. The wine is disjointed and not drinking that smoothly due to harsh tannins.
