2001 Casa Lapostolle - Clos Apalta (Chile / Valle Central / Rapel )   Reviewed by: 1000-yard-stare Rated: 95 pts   We had this wine with authentic Greek cuisine at Kyma in Atlanta. I thought it might work well with the spicy Argentinean and was pleasantly surprised. Although somewhat young, after an hour in the bottle, this beautifully structured wine opened up completely. A spicy nose combined with plums and berries, finishing long and sleek. It wasn't overly fruity, nor did the tannins get in the way. I went out and bought four more bottles the following week; this Clos Apalta vintage will continue to improve over the next 5-8 years.
