After finally getting on this mailing list, I was anxious to try my new Cabernet, but I let it sit for several months. I had this bottle recently with dinner and over the course of the evening, it never made the stellar impression on me I'd been given from others. Granted, this is a nice bottle of wine...ripe fruit and rich (almost buttery) berry flavors dominate this full-bodied wine. A nice bouquet, the feel of a classic Oakville red and a sleek, pretty finish...but something is missing. Maybe I'm caught up in the fact that it cost $90/bottle and I wasn't blown away by it. If you have extra money to burn, then go buy a case, otherwise, the QPR for this wine just isn't there for me.
