2001 Torbreck Shiraz - RunRig

This is a truly amazing wine. Deep, dark, purple in color, with an amazing nose, and 45 second finish. One taster said "this wine has an afterburner!" I've had this twice now, first time in a blind tasting the 2001 Dead Arm, 2002 Shirvington, and 2001 Factor, the Run Rig beat them all! The second, open tasting, was against a 1994 Dominus (just for fun) with a 2 hour decant, and a 1996 E&E Black Pepper, again, the Rig came out on top. Still young, with great potential for the future.
