2001 Karl Lawrence Cabernet Sauvignon ($45) (USA / California / Napa )   Reviewed by: iheidt Rated: 92 + pts   Color: Brick Red. Aroma: Spice. Licorice. Flavor: Spice. Licorice. Black Currant. Profile: Unbalanced. Heavy Tannin. Medium Finish.   Initial quite shut down in the glass, the wine eventually opened up to reveal a strong Licorice/spicyness on the nose. Again the licorice is a strong component of the flavor profile. The tannin/fruit balance is still being dominated by the tannin, so I will let this wine rest for a while longer before trying again.
