1991 E. Guigal - La Mouline
(France / Rhone / Northern Rhone / Cote-Rotie )
Reviewed by:
Wilfried
Rated:
96 pts
(not blind): Brilliant light ruby, light rim, fat tears, skin like sediment on the side of the bottle. Multitude of roasted aromas in the nose, silky cool. Medium body, extremely well balanced but with a good acidity spine, velvety tannins, roasted nuts. Aftertaste very long and very agreeable - a nearly perfect wine. Score: 50 + 4 for optic + 14
for bouquet + 19 for taste + 9 for overall = total score of 96. I am not sure if this wine has gained by cellaring but at least it has not degraded. Overall kind of smooth, but the clear acidity gives some counter balance.
