2006 Solar de Sael - Mencia, Bierzo - Opimian ($26) (Spain / Castilla y Leon )   Reviewed by: SIL Rated: 92 pts   Big candied raspberry and cherry aromas on the nose. The palate: richer and more complex than the nose would suggest, with fruit elements beautifully integrated with a grainy tannic structure, balanced acidity, spice, and timber elements from oak aging. Made from eighty-year-old vines and aged in a mixture of American and French oak for ten months-a real palate-teaser that's hard to pin down.
