2007 Concha y Toro Cabernet Sauvignon - Frontera ($10)

The visual aspect of this wine is very pleasant : it had a brillant medium cherry red colour which is appealing.
To the nose, it had a bacon and smoky smell but we could find some red fruits such as strawberry and cherry. The odour was also a bit spicy with a touch of wood. It was a very fruity nose.
In mouth, we could still taste the fruit but not only ; the wine had a medium body, it was very soft and lightly sweet. Anyway it is still a well balanced wine between fruity aromas and long finish. I would like to add that we did not feel any tannins, it is the reason why we can say that this is a very easy to drink wine. The round evolution in mouth is linked up with the freshness of this red wine.
This wine was good, even if it had not the caracter of a Cabernet Sauvignon but much more of a Merlot and I would like to stress out that this is not because I am French that I did not find this wine outstandind!
