1993 Chateau Haut-Brion

A very good wine, with notes of spice and damp leaves, berries and cherry. In the mouth, this wine presented a good interplay of softness, finesse as expressed by flowers, raisins, espresso and a tinge of plum and an earthiness characterized by mushrooms, damp dried leaves and very faint pepper. Inspired by my conversation with Keiichi on films, this wine instantly reminded me of a femme fatale, particularly Barbara Stanwyck in Billy Wilder's Double Indemnity. This, like Stanwyck's character, was a wine that would seduce you with its charm and astound you with its spunk.
(A mix of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc.)
