1998 Robert Mondavi Merlot ($50) (USA / California / Napa )   Reviewed by: Lucile.gillet Rated: 85 pts   This brillant wine from well-known region of Napa Valley in California has a brick red colour because of its old vintage (1998). This expressive wine has fine smells of oak wood, spices, and red fruits' jam. On the mouth, it starts with freshness attack but after 3 sips it is very different. We can appreciate the richness of this wine because of its full evolution in mouth and its aftertaste; it is rich in the mouth with a long finish. We feel physical sensation in the whole palate. To conclude, it is a medium or full bodied wine, that we have to drink by eating.
