COMMENTS:
(not blind): Brilliant light ruby, light rim, fat tears, skin like sediment on the side of the bottle. Multitude of roasted aromas in the nose, silky cool. Medium body, extremely well balanced but with a good acidity spine, velvety tannins, roasted nuts. Aftertaste very long and very agreeable - a nearly perfect wine. Score: 50 + 4 for optic + 14 for bouquet + 19 for taste + 9 for overall = total score of 96. I am not sure if this wine has gained by cellaring but at least it has not degraded. Overall kind of smooth, but the clear acidity gives some counter balance.

COMMENTS:
(not blind): Brilliant light ruby, dense tears. Decent dark dried fruits in the nose, very fine, honeycomb out of the empty glass. Medium body, decent red fruit, crisp acidity, firm tannins, very well balanced. Fine velvety aftertaste. Could go as a rather fine Burgundy. Score: 50 + 3 for optic + 14 for bouquet + 18 for taste + 8 for overall = total score of 93.
I hesitated to open this bottle because some 95 vintage Rhone wines seem a bit closed now but this was very fine.

COMMENTS:
(not blind): Light and vivid ruby, bright, very dense tears, bit brick in the rim. Mature nose, soft, dark dried fruits, figs, alcohol, honey comb. Medium body, very well balanced, good acidity, mature dark fruit, fine. Medium finish according to the taste, hint of finesse. Score: 50 + 3 for optic + 14 for bouquet + 18 for taste + 8 for overall = total score of 93.
Each time I open one bottle of this wine I fear TCA taint - I had this already too often. This time I was lucky and it was at its best - this is a wine you want always a glass more. Excellent.

COMMENTS:
(single blind): Medium ruby, fat tears, light rim. Guarded nose, hint of black currant. Full body, fat alcohol, stiff neck, some acidity, lots of tannins. Velvety aftertaste, bit bitter. Score: 50 + 3 for otpic + 12 for bouquet + 16 for taste + 5 for overall = total score of 86.
This wine seems underwined in relation to the alcohol level (the label states 14,5% but I am sure it is higher) and reminds me of a Da Capo 98 one year ago. Could be that this wine is already a bit closed now.

COMMENTS:
(double blind): Dark ruby, clear, fat tears. Sweet velvety fruity nose, dark chocolate. Medium body, sit sweet fruit, very well balanced, sneaky fruit. Finish bit coriander. Score: 50 + 4 for optic + 14 for bouquet + 18 for taste + 8 for overall = total score of 94.
This wine is already very mature but reminds me to some degree of a rather young St. Emilion like Monbousquet 1998.

(not blind): Deep purple, clear, nearly opaque, fat tears. Soft toast in the nose, decent dark fruit, velvety. Rather full body, dark fruit, soft but powerful tannins, good acidity behind. Aftertaste very long, velvety tannins intermingled with some acidity, in the end a bit metallic. Score: 50 + 4 for optic + 13 for bouquet + 18 for taste + 7 for overall = total score of 92. Second time I had this wine, again very satisfying.

Nice to drink but rather "harmless" - besides the high alcohol degree.
