2005 Louis Latour - Appellation Meursault
(France / Burgundy / Cote d'Or)
ALCOHOL: 13.5%
RATED: 03/30/2009
COMMENTS: In the eyes, this wine is pale to light golden yellow, very pleasant and elegant. Instead a strong odor of alcohol, the most curious noses will recognize fragrance of raisins, green apple and lemon. If you are a bigger expert, you will be able to smell grappe fruit and pineapple. Anyway, in the nose it's already lively.
In the mouth, you will taste pineapple and lemon, that you have already recognized and a charming tatse of spice bred.
This wine is full in mouth, long and rich, crispy in the beginning with a refreshing attack.
However, this vintage is a difficult because it's a bit closed, with a lack of roudness and bodiness it should usually have when it's more opened.

2004 Les cent vignes
(France / Burgundy / Cote de Beaune / Beaune)

COMMENTS: This brick red wine gives you an idea about how good its vinetage is.
The first smell reveals the typical fragrances of Pinot Noir, with its strong wild cherry smell. But you can also detect other fruits and a delicate herbal fragrance.
Then with the first sip, the wine immediately spreads in your whole mouth. It's a rich and round wine, but also tannic.
You will also enjoy its fruity aftertaste. Staying in your palet, this wine proves its incredible velvety.
A very good Pinot Noir.

2005 Chateau Fourcas-Dupre - 60% Cabernet ; 40% Merlot
(France / Bordeaux / Medoc)
RATED: 03/30/2009
COMMENTS: In the eyes, this wine is unusual because of its brightness and it's cherry red colour. Tannins are very present, which s typical of a cabernet Sauvignon. However, this wine is round, lively and well structured and very coated : astringency due to tannins is quite soft.
In mouth, a Chateau Fourcas Dupre has a full character and remarkable rusty and spicy flavors like pepper, blackcurrent, vanilla, roasted coffee beans and cloves.
A small inconvenient could be its light acidity, but it's not very strong. Furthermore, best amators of wine could be able to recognize a typical oaky flavor.
