COMMENTS:
This wine has a bright brown red colour with a light tinge. It has a strong smoky smell and a licorice and vanilla nose. We smell a slight of mushroom aroma. In mouth, this medium-bodied wine has an acid attack. We feel taste of butter and of smoke and mushroom at the finish. There is a licorice after taste. It has light tannins, which don't stay a long in mouth.

COMMENTS:
This wine has a pale yellow colour. It's a dry and not fruity wine. It hasn't a very expressive odour, but we can smell a blend of lemon, grapefruit and minerality aromas. This wine is smooth but we feel acidity in its attack. It isn't agressive and we feel dryness as we expect. It has a good length. It is very fresh and will be ideal with oysters.

COMMENTS:
This brillant yellow wine has a really interesting colour. The nose has malo-lactic notes but, you can easily smell lemon aroma after a little bit of aeration. In mouth, this levely wine has a disapointing attack with a little bit of oxydation. But it evolves on a citrus taste with a good final which coats the low palate. In a nutshell, this wine is a perfect blend between liveliness and fullness.

This wine was very good. I realy love its oaky flavour. This wine has a supple attack, then we found the tannic and the acidity of it. This wine is long in mouth with oaky and smoky flavours. It has a good balance between supleness and acidity at the begining. At the end we feel the tannins very lngtime after tasting.

This old wine has a ruby/cherry red color with a light tinge because of its age. He has an expressive vanilla nose, with a light smoky smell and a slight mushroom aroma. This medium body wine has a crispy attack (because of its age: 6 years), a slight pleasant velvety evolution in the mouth, with taste of butter, oak with a mushroom smoky finish. Color: This brilliant wine has a light pale yellow color
Smell: this wine has an expressive and pleasant smells of rose, litchi, muscat and violet
Mouth: This wonderful medium-bodied wine has a round attack and a crispy evolution. There is a balance between the liveliness and the roundness. It's a real great fruity wine, with a licorice taste. As this wine is round and supple at the beginning, we don't feel the acidity. There is a medium length at the end. We can conclude that it's a light wine, it doesn't climb up in the palate, we just feel a fruit explosion.
Comments: This wine is a simple wine, easy to drink wine. If we plug the nose, we feel acidity which is hiding by the fruity smells. Dry Gewurztraminer are delightful with curry, ethnic food in general (Thai, Indian food). They can be served with cheeses (roquefort) and dessert. In three words, this wine is supple, fruity and soft.

RATED: 05/01/2011 |

COMMENTS:
This wine was purchased from the domaine to celebrate a reunion of burgundy lovers who had been at university in Dijon, Burgundy in 1992-3.
Bruno Clavelier is a charming host and incredibly knowledgeable on the local geology and how it affects the wine. This one was probably produced before his time, and was struggling a bit in a blind tasting against wines that were in their prime.
The colour had aged to a rusty orange but surprisingly there was still some fruit coming through on the nose together with earthier notes. A little bit tired on the palate with very dry tannins and a strong mineral/flinty note. Lots of cassis/myrtilles still coming through.
Still pleasant to drink, but past its very significant pomp!
