Very soft tannins. So Light it is almost more like pinot than bordeaux. Started with candy, licorice, iodine / rust and some spiciness to it. Flavors of dark, deep red fruits (berry), with a tinge of deep cherry. Evolved to espresso, dried flowers. Very elegant structure, with a smooth entry and a non-overpowering but deep and long finish. Very soft velvety tannins. A great elegant wine. It just kept evolving, that after we finished the bottle, I found myself still sniffing the aromas left from the bottle (making me look like a coke addict). It's amusing that I had this a day after the Pegau. Caramel, honey, great acidity to balance the sweetness. Burnt, toast, wood, some raisins. Medium bodied. Barnyard smell and flavor (for lack of a better term, like horse crap). I know wine described that way would be a turn off, but man, was this a great wine.
