Perfumed, floral notes. Has metal and rubbery aromas as well. On the palate, it's lean to medium body, some faint compound chocolate, stone, high acidity. Although not so tannic, it has a bitterness to it. A so-so wine. aapalileo{ts '2009-07-02 00:00:00'}2005 Robertson Shiraz - Constution Road (92pts)

Wonderful nose. On the palate shows Dark cherry and some raspberry with a hint of green. Very soft tannins. So Light it is almost more like pinot than bordeaux. A little off balance or it could have scored much higher.jlwhite2{ts '2009-06-20 00:00:00'}2001 Chateau Margaux (94pts)

Very good, evolving nose. Started with candy, licorice, iodine / rust and some spiciness to it. Flavors of dark, deep red fruits (berry), with a tinge of deep cherry. Evolved to espresso, dried flowers. Very elegant structure, with a smooth entry and a non-overpowering but deep and long finish. Very soft velvety tannins. A great elegant wine. It just kept evolving, that after we finished the bottle, I found myself still sniffing the aromas left from the bottle (making me look like a coke addict). It's amusing that I had this a day after the Pegau. If the Pegau was a musky brute force, this was a perfumed sophisticated lady... :? aapalileo{ts '2009-06-20 00:00:00'}NV Sokol Blosser - Evolution (88pts, $14)

Good brown - gold color. Caramel, honey, great acidity to balance the sweetness. Burnt, toast, wood, some raisins. Medium bodied. The short finish hints that it is at peak now. aapalileo{ts '2009-06-19 00:00:00'}2003 Clarendon Hills Grenache - Grenache Clarendon Romas (88pts)

15% Cabernet & 85% Shiraz blend. Smoke, leather, good acidity. Faint oak, but not too pronounced nor overpowering. Firm tannins. The lamb brought out the savory and earth characteristics of the wine. Good!aapalileo{ts '2009-06-19 00:00:00'}2004 Domaine de Pegau (92pts)

Deep nose, meat juice, smoke. Great acidity. Very complex. Barnyard smell and flavor (for lack of a better term, like horse crap). I know wine described that way would be a turn off, but man, was this a great wine. Perfectly paired with lamb at Je Suis Gourmand. This wine just kept evolving. aapalileo{ts '2009-06-19 00:00:00'}
