Not too acidic with a little sweetness. Goes really well with spicy foods even. I love it cynthiamonster {ts '2008-04-28 00:00:00'} 2004 Chalone Cabernet Sauvignon (87pts) http://www.winedemocracy.com/TNResults.cfm/WineID=10147 wine356 {ts '2008-04-24 00:00:00'} 2006 Gerard Millet http://www.winedemocracy.com/TNResults.cfm/WineID=10711 test corgikelly {ts '2008-04-24 00:00:00'} 2006 Gerard Millet ($9) http://www.winedemocracy.com/TNResults.cfm/WineID=10711 yummy - but 2006 has disappeared from Delhaize shelves corgikelly {ts '2008-04-24 00:00:00'} 2006 Orin Swift - The Prisoner (90pts, $32) http://www.winedemocracy.com/TNResults.cfm/WineID=10655 Deep purplish ruby. The nose is loaded with ripe blackburries, blueburries, dark cherries, adn some hints of tobacco and ceder. Full-bodied and intense on the palate, almost to the point of decadent. Well-balanced. I normally don't like this bold and almost in-your-face type of wine but this one is very satisfying. mautique {ts '2008-03-23 00:00:00'} 2006 Domaine Herve Azo (86pts, $12) http://www.winedemocracy.com/TNResults.cfm/WineID=10657 Pale golden color with lots of peach, melon, minerals and crip acidity. Long finish mautique {ts '2008-03-23 00:00:00'} 2005 Fetzer Cabernet Sauvignon - valley oaks (83pts) http://www.winedemocracy.com/TNResults.cfm/WineID=10138 wine356 {ts '2008-04-04 00:00:00'} 2006 Espelt - Saulo - carinena http://www.winedemocracy.com/TNResults.cfm/WineID=10660 The Saulo (the name of the region's decomposed granite) is a blend of garnacha and carinena and like last year the '07 over delivers for the price. The nose is a mix of fresh mineral floral notes with bits of animal. The entry is fresh with fragrant raspberry fruit and earthy notes to keep it vibrant and dry. Great energy and vitality makes this a fine everyday red for the savvy sipper. Grilled anything will work here. Great value. Emporda sits within the Costa Brava region at the north-eastern extremity of Spain. Close to the French border and the Mediterranean, the area was a favourite of Salvador Dali and seems a perfect fit for this modern Catalan winery. ericangus {ts '2008-03-27 00:00:00'} 2003 Norman vinyards Cabernet Sauvignon - Conquest (91pts) http://www.winedemocracy.com/TNResults.cfm/WineID=10659 This was actually the first of three wines on the night and wound up being the best. This wine has great flavor and a smooth balance. This wine has a great nose that really gets you intrigued into getting it onto your pallet without delay. This was the first time for me and my friends for a wine from this vineyard and we are very excited about trying even more. It was a 2003 vintage and it appears leaving it in the barrel a little longer has paid off. Outstanding wine, get this one while it lasts.
